Gretchen Waldenberg
Payroll and Billing Specialist
Gretchen started working with Windhorse as a Basic Attender in 2016. In 2017, she started in her current role of Payroll and Billing Specialist (aka bean counter and spreadsheet master). She has “dabbled” in child and elder care throughout her life, but bookkeeping has been her main bread-and-butter for over 20 years. Thanks to serendipity, she landed a supportive role in the beautiful and heart-filled work of Windhorse Elder Care.
In her mid-forties, she had the good fortune to realize her childhood dream of having horses in her life. She says the horses have been guiding her back to her heart. In early 2020, Gretchen and her husband, Michael moved to Washington State to live closer to her family. Now they and their pony, Penny, are heartily living in beautiful Port Townsend, Washington!

Kate Dobbertin
Team Supervisor, Leadership Team

Kate has been working in therapeutic and clinical settings all of her working life. She has been with Windhorse Elder Care since 2001 and is honored to work so intimately with those facing the end of their lives. She received a BA in English and creative writing from Antioch college, a BS in Psychology from Denver University and is in the process of completing her Death Doula certification.
Kate is a longtime meditation practitioner and is grateful for life work so compatible. Showing up for others in this acute phase of their life she feels is much like meditation, demanding radical wakefulness and presence.

Emily (Williams) Trevillian, MA
Team Supervisor, Leadership Team
Emily has worked and volunteered in the mental health and elder care fields since 2006. She holds BA degrees in Sociology and Photography from Purdue University, and her MA in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University. Emily has been with Windhorse Elder Care since 2011, and cares most about supporting elders and their families through the changes that arise with traumatic brain injury and strokes, with Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and end-of-life transitions.
She is a mama to two young children, and is honored beyond measure to get to work with such a wide spectrum of the human experience!

Amy Leetz

Amy comes to Windhorse Elder Care with a rich background in education and holds two graduate degrees. After more than a decade of connection to the Windhorse Community, she now holds multiple roles as the Staffing and Admissions Coordinator, Team Supervisor and Team Lead. Amy is also a certified End-of-Life Doula, a path inspired by her personal journey supporting loved ones through serious illness. These experiences deepened her appreciation for the profound nature of life’s transitions.
A mother of two, Amy is drawn to work that is relational, contemplative and grounded in compassionate presence.

Noel Smith
Office Manager, Admissions Coordinator

Noel may be new to the Windhorse team but he isn’t new to the caregiving profession. At the age of 19 he took his first job working with Elders in Madison Wisconsin and he has worked for many other agencies in the decades since.
Noel has studied meditation and Buddhism both scholastically and personally for 25 years helping to organize dozens of retreats, community events and various projects. He earned a BA in Religious Studies and History from CU Boulder, which included classes at Naropa University. A quest for right livelihood has led him to Windhorse Elder Care as a place to continue to grow, learn and serve the community in a challenging and fulfilling way!
